Because of the world we live in today, where technology is a main factor, it affects/influences who we are, what we do and how we behave. The way we interact with each other, what makes us happy and our capacity for reaching our full potential as individuals is altered by the technology.
The environment changes with a fast pace and with that new technologies increases dramatically. It is possible that the electronic devices that we use on a daily basis affects our personality, behaviour and characteristics. Meaning that this modern world may be altering our human identity, especially young people.
For us to move in the right direction, society(us) depend on information and communication. We use computers to store, retrieve and manipulate data as we like. With this mentioned, it is obvious we want to dominate our surroundings.
An interesting thing that Heidegger said is: “The human becomes a ‘user’ of the world around us and this includes other humans”.
The following images represent the products I use on a daily basis that rely on technology.
